    Position Overview

    Working under the supervision of the Field Operations Manager (FOM), this

    position is responsible for administering and monitoring diagnostic echocardiogram, vascular and general (if applicable) sonography studies using 2D, M-Mode, color flow, pulsed and continuous wave Doppler following Frontera protocols. A Frontera cardiovascular sonographer is required to have a detailed understanding of anatomy, physiology and hemodynamics. They must also be able to recognize abnormalities and form accurate and timely preliminary reports for Frontera Medical Reviewers.


    Sonographers in this position are required to assist with maintaining client accounts by means of educating physicians on clinical diagnoses and purposes for testing and have a general understanding of billing/insurance. Sonographers must also be able to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal social skills communicating with providers and ability to interact and adapt with professionalism to different circumstances and people.




    • Perform diagnostic imaging via ultrasound on patients while following Frontera protocols in the Standard Operating Procedures manual per modality.
    • Upload exams by midnight and no late pending tech cases.
    • For new and existing practices, educate providers on how to retrieve and read their reports utilizing the educational Physician Guides.
    • Complete and maintain required certifications and continuing education, including Echo and Vascular.
    • Registries through CCI and/or ARDMS.
    • Follow HIPAA standards and Frontera policy when handling & transferring confidential patient data.
    • Clean and maintain all clinical equipment in compliance with Frontera standards, including transducers and machine.


    • Single Registry Required: Cardiac or Vascular
    • Dual Registry Highly Preferred: Cardiac and Vascular
    • Experience: Two plus years preferred but not required.
    • Ability to identify pathology, measuring of hemodynamics, knowledge of protocols, color flow mapping, tissue Doppler, and 2-D measurements.
    • Communicate effectively to providers, clients and employees of organization.
    • Motivated self-starter.
    • Attention to detail and able to be a problem solver.
    • Excellent Customer Service results.
    • Strong organization skill sets and able to keep up with the demand of paperwork.
    • A valid driver's license to operate a vehicle for transportation of equipment along with an acceptable driving record.
