Position Overview

The Surgical Operations Manager is responsible for operational excellence in their market by meeting and exceeding client demands and optimizing the return on investments (profit).  The SOM must work proactively and independently while also collaborating with fellow colleagues to ensure standardization of practice management outcomes and standard operational procedures (SOPs) are adhered to.  Exceptional customer service and demonstrated respect to clients, patients and fellow team members is a critical element to success in this role. 



  • Effectively communicate an inspired operations vision of sense of core purpose to all employees and see to it that everyone can share it.
  • Team Development & Training: Coach, mentor and develop people through training, and workflow management tools to support high quality clinical excellence to all clients and patients. Provide the resources necessary to the team for personal development.
  • Participate in regular weekly scheduled meetings with DO to discuss strategic utilization planning and report weekly/monthly-testing audits.


  • Lead person conducting New Practice Orientation steps including clinical on boarding with all new accounts and new practice personnel, ensuring that all onboarding processes and check-list items are complete. Communicate Frontera’s best practice standards which are proven effective and productive recommending workflow and patient pathway improvements.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis by conducting monthly Business Reviews to discuss utilization, determine their needs, concerns and capabilities for improvement.
  • Proactively manages practices’ satisfaction and service delivery by anticipating potential problems, and monitoring satisfaction.


  • Accountable for assuring processes are being followed and implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for managing markets.
  • Build a highly motivated team that is capable of defining repeatable processes, perfecting execution of these processes and delivering ongoing high quality and positive patient experiences.
  • Perform regular quality control & assurance inspections with each team member.
  • Conduct required team meetings including Daily Huddles, Weekly 1-2-1, Level 10 and monthly, market meetings to discuss strategic utilization planning.
  • Manage clinician monthly payroll, expenses, and PTO schedules for all clinical team members.
  • Manage all supply orders and medical gases for market.
  • Manage all staff performance and evaluate employee efficiency. Handle all progressive disciplinary actions for direct reports.   
  • Conduct quarterly and yearly reviews in a timely manner to measure quality assurance; provide guidance and direction to improved performance 


  • Education: Bachelor Degree
  • Experience: Three years in healthcare experience with clinical knowledge and working with physician offices. Experience with bariatric clinics a plus.  
  • 80% (+/-) travel requirements to other markets including bi-weekly corporate office visits in Irving, TX.

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities making sound decisions
